We can’t cover all phones that are being announced. We can only pick out those that are, you know, specials or made bold claims. The new Vivo X Note you see here is the latter.
Firstly, it is a huge phone with a super big 21:10 aspect ratio, 120 Hz 7-inch AMOLED display that packs 3,080 x 1,440 pixels and it measures 168.78 mm tall, 80.31 mm wide, and is at least 8.37 mm thick.
It is hefty too, coming in at 216g minimum. In spite of the size, Vivo claims that the Vivo X Note has the size of MAX (you know which MAX, don’t you?) and yet, it has the feel of the Mini.
The most striking design features of the device are the leatherback cover and the massive camera bump that reminds us of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. Though it stretches the width of the upper section of the back, it is visibly a thinner bump. But that’s just an illusion cos’ it has a double camera bump. The actual camera module, which is a bump itself, sits atop the large slab of the bump.
Speaking of imaging, the rear setup includes a 50 MP “oversized” main camera with OIS, a 48 MP super wide-angle (114-degree) camera, a 12 MP pro-grade portrait camera, and an 8 MP periscope-style zoom camera that offers 5x optical zoom, 60x superzoom, with OIS.
The rear camera system is, of course, blessed by Zeiss optics, a collaboration between the phone maker and the renowned optics company that started back in 2020. Over at the front, a 16 MP selfie camera is embedded into the 7-inch display.
The Vivo X Note is powered by the latest 4 nm process Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip which features Adreno 730 GPU, paired to LPDDR5 RAM (8 or 12 GB), and UFS 3.1 storage (256 or 512 GB).
The rest of the spec sheet details are pretty standard for flagship devices and it includes a 5,000 mAh battery with 80 W fast charging support, 5G and LTE radios, tri-band Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2, for example.
The Vivo X Note is being launched in China at a premium starting price of 5,999 yuan, which is equivalent to 941 American dollars.
