In the short but awesome teaser trailer of Thor: Love and Thunder earlier this week, we had a glimpse of Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor summoning the once-shattered Mjolnir, much to God of Thunder’s surprise (possibly by both the existence newly of the Goddess of Thunder and the appearance of the Mjolnir that was destroyed in Thor 3).
At the same time, we were also treated to a teaser poster (pictured above) featuring an after weight loss Thor, in a very 80s getup, raising his Stormbreaker (which he explicitly expressed prefer over the Mjolnir borrowed from another timeline) summoning the lighting. It is a brilliant poster that somehow oozes with 80s flair even though the movie is not set in the 80s.
The fact that Thor is the star of the poster is nothing out of the ordinary too. However, not wanting to be outdone, the other Thor, i.e. Natalie Portman who played Jane Foster as the new Mighty Thor, has taken to Instagram to share a version of the poster with her in the spotlight.
The poster looks pretty much the same as Chris Hemsworth’s, except that now Hemsworth has been replaced by an unmasked Portman’s Thor and a slightly different lightning pattern. It absolutely brilliant and man, would we love to have that poster in print!
Thor: Love and Thunder stars Chris Hemsworth (as Thor), Natalie Portman (as Jane Foster/Mighty Thor), Tessa Thompson (as King Valkyrie), Taika Waititi (as Korg and also the returning director of the movie), and Christian Bale as the villain Gorr the God Butcher.
It will hit the theaters nationwide on July 08, 2022.
