LEGO Back To The Future DeLorean Time Machine (10300)

The LEGO Back to the Future The DeLorean Time Machine (21103) from a few years ago is something most of us rather not remember happening. The set did not do a good job of recreating one of the most iconic movie vehicles of all time. Not even close. Then again, it was a kid’s set. Thankfully, we can erase that awful memory and replaced it with the LEGO Back to the Future Time Machine (10300).

Granted, the 10300 is still far from LEGO MOC from the likes of Orion Pax and Dave Slater but this 1,872-piece set aimed at AFOLs shines for the fact that you can choose to build the time-traveling car from the first, second, or third movie, from the same set. Now, I am sold.

If I could, I would bag three sets just to have all three versions of the time machine. But at US$169.99 per set, it’d be a pipedream to me. As a consolation, having just one set also gives you the opportunity to work on it again whenever you feel like rebuilding it to the other version of the DeLorean Time Machine.

Another key highlight of this long-awaited UCS BTTF set is perhaps the light-up flux capacitor. That’s right. Not only did LEGO create an accurate Flux Capacitor but it is also a light brick. Now, I am really, really sold, again. This should be the second set to leverage on LEGO light brick after the LEGO Technic Batmobile.

Other features include opening gull-wing doors, a detailed interior with printed dashboard dates, tires that fold for flight mode, and an opening hood. Each set comes with a hoverboard and the OUTATIME license plate, as well as a Doc and Marty McFly minifigures for you to display alongside the brick-built UCS-style information plaque.

All told, the completed model measures over 4.5 inches tall, 14 inches long, and 7.5 inches wide (12 x 35 x 19 cm).

The LEGO Back to the Future Time Machine (10300) will drop on April 1, 2022, for the aforementioned US$169.99.
