As far as ergonomic seat goes, nothing beats the racing seats found in race cars. And it was with this notion, the first gaming chairs were born in 2006. While they were essentially racing seats on wheels, it turns out to be a winning formula that has been copied by almost every single gaming chair maker to this day. OK. Maybe not Herman Miller.
Anyhoo… since Japanese aftermarket tuning parts specialist, Trust’s subbrand, GReddy knows a thing or two about making racing seats and Evangelion e: Project needed a gaming chair as part of its growing gaming product portfolio, there is this: Evangelion e: Project x GReddy Gaming Chair (or officially, GReddy Racing Chair Type EVA eProject).
The seat is adapted from the aftermarket tuner brand’s racing seat used in a sports car, which means you can expect authentic race car seat hold. If you ever seat in one, you will know what that means.
The GReddy Racing Chair Type EVA eProject is available in two colors: black and white, with each chair rocking Evangelion esports brand’s branding on the front and back as well as the familiar logo of NERV on the back of the headrest. It’s a shame that there isn’t one in EVA Unit-01 colors to match MSI x Evangelion e: Project rig.
The chair itself is of PU leather, paired with resin casters. It has a maximum loading of 120 kilograms (265 lbs) and is able to recline to 160-degree, as many similar racing seat gaming chairs do.
The Evangelion e: Project x GReddy Gaming Chair aka GReddy Racing Chair Type EVA eProject is available now, in Japan, from Trust Racing online store for 82,500 yen (or around US$695), tax included.
