Motorsports is the perfect proving ground for automakers’ technology. For example, Subaru used to use WRC to direct the world’s attention to its symmetrical all-wheel-drive. While Nissan is no different (remember GTiR?), it does it differently this time.
The Japanese automaker is using a countertop ramen delivery vehicle to show what’s its new all-wheel-drive technology, called e-4ORCE, is capable of. Well, at least in the stopping part of it.
For the benefit of folks who don’t already know, e-4ORCE is a twin-motor all-wheel control tech innovation used on Nissan Ariya. The principle of e-4ORCE is something along the line of limited-slip differential but with independent control of each wheel.
This innovative all-wheel drive not only offers assured traction at corners but also reduces front and rear vehicle sway when decelerating to minimize occupant discomfort and… also prevents ramen from spilling when pulling to a stop on a ramen bar.
Theoretically speaking, you should be able to take a sip as an e-4ORCE-equipped car is stopping. Not sure why you cannot wait till a car stops before taking a sip but you should be able to if you want.
Anyways, the Nissan e-4ORCE Ramen Counter project, as it is called, implements this advanced all-wheel-drive tech into an RC car platform and uses it to deliver ramen on a counter to customers.
The result was, needless to say, ramen delivery without spilling a drop. However, the Nissan e-4ORCE Ramen Counter Project only demonstrates the reduced swaying when stopping; it never shows its other strength of going around corners with assuring stance. Perhaps the ramen counter is too narrow? I don’t know…
Anyways, skip ahead and have a look at the over-dramatized promotional video. Be warned, the video may make your stomach growl in hunger because the ramen looks delicious!
