For the price of a large flat-screen TV, you can own an entertainment device that will not kill your interior decoration. This “non-TV” TV that we are talking about is a 4K ultra-short-throw laser projector which is what the XGIMI Aura is about.
XGIMI Aura joins the likes of JMGO and Bomaker to undercut big guys like Sony. And yes, it is the price of a large flat-screen TV, not tens of thousands. The XGIMI Aura 4K Ultra Short-throw Laser Projector is capable of projecting 4K HDR10 images at up to 150 inches when placed just inches from the screen – or 17.3 inches, to be precise.
Granted it cannot get as close as Sony’s $30K UST projector but it is still worthy of your consideration if you are in the market for a TV replacement. XGIMI is not new to UST projectors, btw, but the Aura would be it’s first for the international market.
For US$2,499, you get a sleek device that features 2400 ANSI lumens of brightness, 25,000 hours Laser lifespan, eight-point keystone correction technology, built-in Chromecast, fast boot tech (12s!), X-VUE 2.0 imagine engine, MEMC technology, and support for DTS and Dolby Audio delivered through 4x 15W Harman-Kardon speakers comprising of a pair of tweeters and 2 subwoofers.
The Aura is, of course, an Android TV that touts an easy-to-use, customizable Android TV 10 UI and supports popular streaming platforms including Disney+, Hulu, and Amazon Prime out-of-the-box.
The entertainment does not stop there with the App Store; it also has three HDMI ports for hooking up with a video game console, set-top box, and Blu-ray player – for example.
XGIMI Aura recently made an appearance at CES 2022. The XGIMI Aura 4K Ultra Short-throw Laser Projector can be ordered as we speak aforementioned US$2,499 from us.xgimi.com.
