Ever trek across a national park and felt a sense of achievement? Well, don’t just feel the achievement. You can have that achievement i.e. the trail taken carved in wood by Topo Trail Maps.
Oregon-based artist Trevor Crosta who is behind Topo Trail Maps can custom-made a 3D wood carved map marked with the trail you specified, along with the data you provided.
Each map is pretty much like the map you see but in 3D. Meaning, it has depth and elevation. For each chosen map, you get a choice of frames, namely, National Forest Frame and National Parks Frame. The former is inspired by the iconic National Forest Signs while the latter is inspired by the National Parks Signs we often see.
In the case of large-scale map, there are the Large Carved Maps that has the 3D wooden map floating in a rectangular wooden. Whichever your selection is, the frame will be crafted from wood too. Beautiful stuff.
Would love to make my journey to the Hollywood sign but unfortunately, I have lost the data of that trek. Dang it.
Anywho, each map is complete with the chosen location’s parameters such as highest and lowest elevation along with details of the total distance you trekked and the highest elevation you reached in the process before finishing the location’s name.
Man, this thing is like the UCS of maps. A worthy badge of honor for those for been there and done that.
You may learn more about Topo Trail Maps Custom 3D Wooden Maps Of Trails HERE where you can also put in your order for one. But be warned, each piece is made to order by Trevor and so, do expect some wait time. Also, it does not come cheap. Expect to drop at least US$495 for one.
