If you like extra sleek gadgets, then I am very confident that you will like Matt from DIY Perks’ latest build, the DIY USB-C Microphone. Trust me, you probably won’t want to look at any other microphone after seeing Matt’s build. I know I won’t.
We shan’t go into details about how Matt built his retro-licious microphone. But I can tell you that it uses components which he picked up for the cheap. The result is a DIY microphone that oozes with a retro vibe that costs between 30 and 40 dollars in components cost.
Despite it being a budget build, it sounds just as good as a US$3,000 Neumann U87 AI microphone – if not better.
Matt actually did a sound test for the king of microphone and his DIY microphone, and if I can be honest, his DIY USB-C Microphone does indeed sound more spacious and clear. At least, it is to me.
In any case, I will let you be the judge of the audio quality. Skip ahead for the build video and be prepared for a plot twist!
