Shin Evangelion EVA Units Given The Uber Cute “Stuffed Toy” Look

Evangelion is never associated with cute. If anything, it explores the darkest side of humanity with a religious undertone. It is definitely not kids’ stuff, let alone cute. That said, it is hard for me to accept the so-called “Q” version of its characters, but here they are anyway, the Cutie 1 Shin Evangelion Complete Set of Figures.

Joining the growing portfolio of Prime 1 Studio’s Cutie 1 line, the Cutie 1 Shin Evangelion Complete Set of Figures the four iconic Evangelion mechas from the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy which finally concluded with the Evangelion 3.0 + 1.01 – Thrice Upon a Time.

Included in the set are EVA Test Type-01, EVA Production Model-NEW 02α, EVA Production Model-08γ, and Evangelion 13.

For those who don’t already know, Cutie 1’s “Q” version is not merely a caricature of a character. Cutie 1 turns regular characters into adorable, stuffed toy-like versions, but they are not actually stuffed toys. In other words, they are vinyl figures that look like stuffed toys that have cloth buttons for eyes, a zipper for a mouth, and stitches at the “seams”.

Cutie 1 Shin Evangelion Complete Set of Figures is now available for pre-order from the Prime 1 Studio website for US$184. The set will be shipped sometime between December 2022 and February 2023.

Individual figures are available from Cutie 1 for 5,060 yen (US$45) each.
