Smartphones have no doubt cannibalized the camera market. But however good is the imaging technology on smartphones, it can never outperform an actual camera like the Sony α6700 APS-C Mirrorless Camera which has the regular size of everything from the optics to the sensor to the electronics.
The new Sony α6700 APS-C Mirrorless Camera also benefits from high-precision subject recognition by AI and for the first time, the latest still image and video performance are condensed into a compact APS-C body. The latest camera from Sony marries the still and video capabilities of the latest full-frame Alpha with Cinema Line cameras.
It features a 26.0 effective megapixels APS-C back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor, Sony’s advanced BIONZ XR processing engine, a vari-angle touch LCD monitor, a customizable front dial, a switching dial (for still images, movies, and S&Q modes), an optical 5-axis in-body image stabilization system, a wide ISO range of 100 to 32000, an AI-enabled high-accuracy Real-Time Recognition AF, S-Cinetone picture profile, supports high-resolution 4K video recording at up to 120 fps, and a wide latitude of 14+ stops which is perfect for capturing details in harsh or under-lit conditions.
All these and more are packed in a compact package measuring around 12 cm x 7 cm x 8 cm (4.72 x 2.8 x 3.1 inches) and tips the scales at just 493g (17.4 oz. or about 1.1 lbs).
The new Sony α6700 APS-C Mirrorless Camera is available now with a body-only MSRP of US$1,399. It is offered with the PZ1650 (“L” kit) for US$1,499.99 and with the 18135 (“M” kit) for US$1,799.99.
