Want the so-called laser dust detector found on the Dyson V15 Detect Cordless Stick but not willing to drop hundreds for one? Well, we have good news. Thanko has released a nifty gadget, called “Gomi Yell Light”, that will lend any vacuum cleaner the ability to see the dust too.
Gomi Yell Light can be retrofitted to any vacuum cleaner and when switched on, it will emit a wide, green light in front of the vacuum cleaner brush/roller, thus allowing you to better see the fine dust.
While it may not be a fancy laser, the Gomi Yell Light should serve the same purpose because that’s what I do sometimes: using a flashlight to shine close to the floor to see if I miss out on any spots.
So instead of sticking my giant Nitecore TM26 QuadRay which obviously won’t work, you get this tiny gadget to do the job.
The Gomi Yell Light is super small, measuring just 6.5 cm wide, 3 cm tall, and 1.7 cm deep (2.56 x 1.18 x 0.67 inches), and it comes with an adhesive sticker for sticking it on the side of the brush/roller unit of the vacuum cleaner.
The light attachment is designed to cast light at an angle so it’d have the front covered as much as possible. Not sure how well it will work, though.
The Gomi Yell Light is being sold on the Thanko website for 1,980 yen (which is about US$14).
