Ever wanted a giant solar system model? Like with a sun that’s 9 feet in diameter? Well, you’re in luck! Produced by SayOk (okay!) and available on Amazon (affiliate link), this giant inflatable solar system comes with the sun and eight planets. Sorry, Pluto! You’re still too little to play with the big kids.
While the sun is 9 feet in diameter, Jupiter and Saturn are 7 feet, Uranus and Neptune are 6 feet, Earth and Venus are 5.5 feet, and Mars and Mercury come in at 5 feet. So nothing is really to scale, but I didn’t really expect them to be. The important thing is that I can fill them all with helium and then use them to fly away like Carl Fredricksen in Up.
The planets include LEDs inside to light them from within, as well as a repair kit and pump. Each planet requires 8 AAA batteries to be lit. So that’s 72 AAAs to light all of them. That’s a lot of batteries! So just let me know if you plan on buying these so I can buy stock in Duracell beforehand.
