Created by fashion designer JW Anderson and revealed during his FW23 runway show in Milan earlier this year, the Frog Clutch Bag is a clutch that looks like a giant frog. The frog is billed as being “hyperrealistic”, although it looks much more like a children’s toy than an actual frog to me. A toy that costs $990.
The Frog Clutch was created with 3D printing technology and has a mouth that opens for storage, with a magnetic closure. It does not have a strap, so you will be required to carry your frog bag around by hand should you choose to buy one and tote it around with a belly full of crumpled $100s.
But if you kiss it, does it turn into a handsome prince? For $990, I should hope so. Or at least turn into something I don’t have as much buyer’s remorse about purchasing. This is the reason my wife all hides the credit cards as soon as I open a bottle of wine.
