On a mission to reinvent the wheel, YouTuber The Q constructed a bike with Reuleaux triangular wheels. Is it more practical than a bike with entirely round wheels? Of course not, but it will definitely get more attention. And isn’t that purpose of biking? Forget exercise or commuting, I want people to stare.
The triangular wheels were fabricated from wood, and the bike features a custom frame with a bouncing rear axle and horizontal rollers above each wheel that makes contact as they roll and keeps them rotating smoothly. Truly a marvel of modern engineering. If only cavemen could see us now!
Admittedly, the bike works much better than I expected it to. I thought for sure this thing would just rattle your teeth out of your skull. Which is still might if The Q wasn’t afraid to take this thing downhill and get it up to 30MPH.
