The biggest to come out of the toy world today is possibly this: the LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter (75355). The just-revealed LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter is the third UCS LEGO X-Wing set since after the 10240 from 2015 and the 7191 from 2002.
The X-Wing, which is no doubt one of the most – if not the most – recognizable Star Wars spaceship from the original trilogy, gets updated for 2023 to become the most detailed version yet. Well, I assume it is more detailed because it has a lot more pieces, at 1,949 pieces, as opposed to 1,559 pieces and 1,300 pieces of the 10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter and the 7191 X-Wing Fighter, respectively. And also because LEGO said so.
This latest UCS X-Wing is an authentic recreation of the iconic T-65 X-Wing Starfighter from the Star Wars saga and boasts detailed recreation of the Incom 4L4 fusil thrust engines and Taim & Bak KX9 laser cannons, along with features like an opening cockpit, a space behind the cockpit for the R2D2 LEGO droid figure, and wings that can be open or closed at the turn of a switch.
The brick-built adult collectible X-Wing comes with a flight stand with a display plaque with technical details, along with Luke Skywalker and R2-D2 astromech droid minifigures. When completed, it measures 55 cm/21.5” long, 27 cm/10.5” tall, and 44 cm/17.5” wide.
The LEGO Star Wars X-Wing Starfighter (75355) Set will be available on Star Wars Day, May 4th, for US$239.99. LEGO VIP members will have access starting on May 1st.
Meanwhile, you can catch the set in the flesh, well, I mean in the bricks, over at the Star Wars Celebration event in London from 7th-10th April 2023, at the LEGO booth.
