Here’s The Official Trailer Of Netflix’s Blonde, A Marilyn Monroe Story

Here’s the official trailer of Netflix’s Marilyn Monroe film, Blonde. Unlike Elvis, Blonde is not a straight-up biography of Monroe, though. It is a fictionalized story based on the novel by Joyce Carol Oates of the same name, originally published in 2000.

The novel was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 2001 and the National Book Award in 2000. You can’t find the original copies without paying an arm or a leg for them but for anyone who is interested, you may be able to find the 2001 paperback on Amazon selling for around 16 bucks.

There is also a 20th-anniversary edition from 2020 (Ecco, ISBN-13: 978-0062968456) going for US$13.49.

Anyways back to Netflix’s movie… here’s the official synopsis:

“Based on the bestselling novel by Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde boldly reimagines the life of one of Hollywood’s most enduring icons, Marilyn Monroe. From her volatile childhood as Norma Jeane, through her rise to stardom and romantic entanglements, Blonde blurs the lines of fact and fiction to explore the widening split between her public and private selves.”

The film is written and directed by New Zealand-born Australian director Andrew Dominik (Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse James) and stars Cuban-Spanish actress Ana de Armas (Knives Out, No Time To Die, The Gray Man) as Marilyn Monroe. The film also stars Adrien Brody, Bobby Cannavale, Xavier Samuel, and Julianne Nicholson.

Blonde will premier on Netflix on September 28, 2022.
