G.I. Joe Classified Series Cobra H.I.S.S. Tank Went Up On HasLab, Was Funded In A Flash

The Joes’ Striker crowdfunding campaign may have taken off with the help of G.I. Joe fans but Cobra Commander is claiming credit for the success of the crowdfunding campaign. Seeing how G.I. Joe has the Striker, Cobra Commander thought it may be a good idea too to crowdfund its effort to take over the world too. And he is starting with the first 6-inch scale G.I. Joe Classified Series Cobra H.I.S.S.

Cobra’s M.A.R.S. (Military Armaments Research Systems) Industries has engaged HasLab to roll in funds to build the first vehicle of its armored fleet. The G.I. Joe Classified Series Cobra H.I.S.S. is of 6-inch scale, which means it is somewhat of a monster, stretching a cool 19 inches (482.6 mm) long and towers at an intimidating 10.96 inches (278.28 mm) tall.

The intricately detailed terror on tracks is accompanied by a highly-articulated 6-inch Cobra H.I.S.S. Driver Action Figure, featuring premium deco and detailing. The figure measures 6.43 inches (163.4 mm).

The vehicle itself boasts battery-powered interior and exterior LED light-up features which can be turned on at a push of a button. The light-up feature is definitely one of the highlights. It is present in the cockpit heads-up display, the headlights, fog lights, rear Cobra convoy lights, and the Cobra Insignia Beacon. In addition, a Cobra logo will project on the ground at the front of the vehicle, like so:

Over at the rear cargo hold, there is a secondary red LED illumination, you know, for tactical purposes.

Other notables include functional wheels with moving treads, a super detailed command cockpit complete with a functional 5-point harness with Cobra logo, a “Gull-wing” canopy, an illuminated rear cargo bay that can hold additional troops, a retractable tow hitch at the rear, articulated turret with poseable cannon accessories, removable engine cover, removable armor plating skirt, and extendable cockpit boarding ladders.

The HasLab G.I. Joe Classified Series Cobra H.I.S.S. crowdfunding campaign went live on June 29 but already, but Cobra supporters have already pushed it over and beyond the funding target of 8,000 backers.

But it’s not over yet. Crowdfunding for the US$299.99 toy will end in 45 days’ time, on August 15th, 2022 at 11:59 PM EDT. The toy is expected to start shipping in Fall 2023. Yeah. It will be a hell of a wait.

Meanwhile, you probably can keep yourself occupied with the Transformers x G.I. Joe Megatron H.I.S.S. Tank Toy or you can pick up a not-so-collectible 3.75-inch scale G.I. Retro Collection Cobra H.I.S.S.
