Shin Ultraman opened on the 13 this month. Since then, it had been the no. 1 movie in Japan for two consecutive weeks and rolled in over 2 billion yen (about US$15 million) at the box office. But this latest Shin movie is not about to rest on its laurels.
Whether or not you are outside of Japan (and do not get to catch the movie), or a non-fan who doesn’t understand the fuss over this first live-action Ultraman movie, Toho is offering you a chance to catch the opening scene of the movie for free, on YouTube.
Part of the opening scene of Shin Ultraman will be available on YouTube for 48 hours only, starting on Friday, May 27, 2022, at 20:00 hours and ending at 1959 hours on Sunday, May 29, 2022.
I believe that would be Japan Time. If so, it would mean it will go live on YouTube, on Toho’s Youtube channel, on May 27, 2022, at 4 AM Pacific Time (UTC -7) and ends on Sunday, May 29, 022, at 3:59 AM UTC -7.
Before you go ga-ga over this news. I am not quite sure if the free screening on YouTube is zone-restricted because it sometimes it is. In any case, if it is available to all, then it would only mean one thing: Shin Ultraman may see an international release. But I could be wrong.
Anyhoo, whatever the case may be, you may want to keep your eyes peeled on this YouTube video page.
