There’s no denying that iPhone is a great phone but we can’t say the same for the price which is prohibitive for some. Thankfully, with each year’s phone update, there is a budget model.
This year is no different. Folks, meet the new 2022 Apple iPhone SE. That’s right. It looks exactly like the last iPhone SE which was released in 2020. However, if you dive into the details, the similarity to 2020’s budget iPhone is limited to the aesthetic.
With the new iPhone SE, it utilized the same super-strong glass – both front and back – as found on the iPhone 13. It also shares the 13’s A15 Bionic chip and benefits from 5G connectivity.
Other highlights include a 4.7-inch Retina HD display (1,334 by 750 pixels), a Home button with fingerprint sensor, better battery life, IP67 rating, and a new 12 MP camera system that touts advanced features like Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, and Deep Fusion.
The 2022 iPhone SE will be available in a choice of 64 GB, 128 GB, and 256 GB capacities and in midnight, starlight, and (PRODUCT)RED starting at US$429. It will be available to order starting on Friday (March 11, 2022), with availability the following Friday (March 18, 2022).
In related news, Apple has also announced new green finishes, namely, alpine green and green, for the iPhone 13 lineup. The new alpine green will be available for iPhone 13 Pro (from US$999) and iPhone 13 Pro Max (from US$1,099), and the green on iPhone 13 (from US$799) and iPhone 13 mini (from US$699).
The iPhone 13s with the new finishes are available to order on March 11, with official availability starting March 18, 2022.
