Unreal Engine Show Off Next-Gen Gaming Tech With Free The Matrix Awakens Demo Video Game

Some people say Metaverse is the future. I was skeptical (think, Second Life). Then I saw what the future of computer graphics holds for us in this video game demo put out by Epic Games’ Unreal Engine: The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience.

Before you go all ga-ga over it, you have to know that it is not a full-fledged game. But the good news is, The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience is a playable tech demo that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S users can download for FREE and experience the future of gaming tech for themselves first hand.

The video features performances by the original The Matrix trilogy stars, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss, who are also the stars of the fourth Matrix movie, The Matrix Resurrections which will hit the theaters on December 22, 2021.

It is true that The Matrix has opened us to a world of reality-bending universe and now, The Matrix Awakens: An Unreal Engine 5 Experience has literally bend reality. Don’t believe it? Just watch the demo video after the break.

It is the future of interactive storytelling and entertainment that will leave you wondering what is real and what isn’t. The video demo shows off shockingly realistic visuals that blur the line between the real and digital world.

The game utilizes a variety of cutting-edge technology from Unreal Engine 5 to achieve that. These technologies include World Partition that automatically divides large maps into a grid and streams the necessary cells for easier building and management of massive open worlds, Nanite that renders vast city environments at an unprecedented level of detail – right down to the nuts and bolts, Lumen for simulating light bouncing off surfaces dynamically and reflection in a large open world, Chaos that allows for cinematic-quality levels of destructions in real-time and simulate movement cloth, hair, vehicles and more, and Mass Framework for populating large worlds with a boatload of simulated and interactive entities, including crows and traffic in a city.

There is more to what the UE5 has to offer. If you are down, you can learn more HERE. Meanwhile, here’s the said video:
