Don’t watch TV shows or movies with me cos’ I will definitely spoil it for you by asking where the hell electricity comes from or how is it that fuel is still available in an apocalypse movie or TV show (cue Finch!). I guess the answer to my cynical question would be this: the Bluetti AC300 and B300 Power Station Combo.
Clearly, clean energy like wind and solar power is what we need to live through an apocalypse. Well, of course, that’s assuming that the sun is still functioning as it should! Having said that, we shouldn’t really wait till the apocalypse to start to appreciate clean energy.
Most traditional gas-powered generator produces electricity but does not store it. In other words, you want power, you fire up the generator. You can probably set up a battery bank, but that’s not the point. The point is, it is designed to store energy. Period.
Meanwhile, the Bluetti AC300 and B300 Power Station Combo let you harness the power of nature to produce electricity and store it for later use. The beauty of the AC300 is, it is 100% modular, allowing it to stack up to 4 B300 battery modules per unit for a mind-blowing 12,288 Wh of precious electrons to power a variety of appliances and equipment during an emergency or power outage.
Getting the AC300 juiced up is green too. It is capable of receiving 2,400 watts of solar charging input. With Bluetti’s advanced MPPT controller, a B300 can be topped in just an hour and a half. However, in the prep phase where electricity is available from wall outlets, the system can also be charged at 1800-3000W via wall outlets, and you’d be doing so without the need for a charging brick – thanks to the 3000-watt pure sine wave inverter.
If you are in a race against time, you can even recharge the unit with both wall outlets and solar panels that combine to offer a 5,400W input rate. There’s a catch here, though. To take advantage of the 5,400W rate input, you will need at least two units of B300.
Finally, the Bluetti AC300 is scalable. Throw in the Fusion Box Pro, you can hook up two AC300 in series and connect with up to 8 B300 to achieve up to 240V, 6,000W, and a total of 24,576 Wh of power. Like, who needs to be off-the-grid in the great wilderness when can have the grid wherever you go?
But the system is not just for outdoor, far away from the grid. The setup can serve as a 24/7 UPS home backup. With Bluetti’s Smart Home Panel, you can integrate the AC300 power system into your home grid which can kick in whenever there’s a power outage.
But with great power comes great investment (on your part). We are talking US$3,699 for the Bluetti AC300 and B300 Power Station Combo. Additional B300 battery modules command US$2,099 per unit. And those do not include the solar panels, which cost about 600 bucks each – if you want to leverage on the power of the sun.
Then there are the questions of self-discharge rate or shelf life and the maximum charging cycle before it loses efficiency.
Who would have thought that preparing for the apocalypse can be this costly? For those who don’t have the power to spend, I guess you have to settle with a gadget like the K-TOR Power Box Pedal?
